hi folks,
In response to this old thread http://news.lugnet.com/cad/dev/org/ldraw/?n=3725
and since nobody has reacted to it, the LDraw Steering Committee likes to pick
it up and proposes to shift the LDraw Standards Committee (LSC) elections from
July to October by modifying the LDraw.org Standards Committee Final Draft -
http://www.ldraw.org/article/382 as following:
---------------- Begin of proposal ----------------
Recurring Dates
October 1 - Annual summary published. Call for nominations.
October 15 - All nominations must be received and recorded
October 18 - Nominees must have accept or declined the nomination. LSC Elections
begin
October 31 - LSC Elections end
On or before November 7 - LDraw.org Steering Committee announces election
results
November 15 - New LSC Members take office
All dates in the document refering to this schedule would be modified
accordingly.
---------------- End of proposal ----------------
The actual elections have been extended to 13 days, while the downtime for
outgoing members and incoming members have been shortened to a week based on the
experience of this year's transition. The term of the 2006/2007 LSC would be
enlonged 'til October 2007.
I hereby call for a final community discussion. If you share a concern for the
future of LDraw.org, please take the time to read through the LSC Final Draft in
prospect of this motion and share your feedback. When giving feedback, please be
sure to present alternative draft text for sections you would like to modify.
Please DO NOT simply say I dont like that, take it out.
Once discussion of this motion (and its subsequent versions) has died down, and
once general consensus among the public is achieved, the document will undergo a
similar ratification process as the LSC Final Draft did in July.
Willy Tschager
On behalf of the LDraw.org Steering Committee
