It is necessary to have a logon to the website in order to vote using the
website functionality, which has been the mechanism in place since the contest
was relaunched on the new site, which supports user logon and requires it for
access to certain functions, including voting.
Whether being a member of the site means being a member of the ldraw.org
organization is a different question, and I think the site is a bit sketchy on
the distinction (if one exists (1)) and on what you agreed to when you register
at present... the legal disclaimer for example doesn't yet touch on it... once
it's all solidified presumably it will.
1 - this has been a point of debate in the organizational discussions and I'm a
bad person because I can't right now remember whether it currently does or not,
defacto.
The most current draft of the bylaws being circulated has them as the same,
becoming a site member is a necessary and sufficient condition for becoming an
organization member.
