Bricksmith and LDView both use OpenGL, as far as I can tell. Of course,
Bricksmith is only available on the Mac and LDView is a viewer, not an editor,
but they are both excellent applications (I use them regularly). They are being
actively developed: Travis just recently released a beta version of LDView 3.2
and Allen continues to work on Bricksmith as well.

If so please let me know.

If not, then I would like to know if there are any interests for a new and
modern editor?

Of course! I am happy with the tools I have now and the direction they're
headed, but I think it is always beneficial to introduce new programs or at
least ideas to the LDraw ecosystem.

You are probably wise to consult the community before getting started, however.
Since there are a number of editors already, I expect it would be helpful to
hash out your plans and objectives at the start to prevent "reinventing the
wheel" and to ensure your efforts satisfy the needs of your potential users.

I'm sure others will have more specific questions and suggestions. What key
features do you have in mind for your new editor besides OpenGL graphics?

Be well,
Jim
