Id be happy just to get the palatte(s) to load correctly. The parts *seem*
to be there because when I reach into the blank area where they should be
visible they seem to get picked up. But I have no idea which part Im
picking up at any given grab. :(

Hi Allan,
This is a fairly common problem, it is almost always caused by your video
card drivers being out of date. You should install the latest ones from your
manufacturers website. If you have an nvidia or ati card you can use their
generic drivers from http://www.nvidia.com and http://www.ati.com

Went to IBM and downloaded the latest driver for my laptops video card
(Mobility Radeon 7500).
Unfortunately, things seem to have only gotten worse. :(
The first couple of times after updating the driver the app *seemed* to work a
bit better. The scroll bar had returned on the parts window (that had been gone
for a while) and the hand seemed a little less jittery.
But then it started crashing during any attempt to save the model. Gave the
standard LDD has encountered a problem....
Then, I began getting that message as the program tries to load. It will now
not load at all. It gets about 1/2 way through processing the bricks (during
startup) and just crashes.

After youve done that youll need to clear your brick cache to reload the
bricks and their snapshots from lxf. To do that go to:
C:/Documents and Settings/username/Local Settings
and delete the folder called Qubesoft. If youre running on Windows 98
theyll be in a different place, look in the readme for more details.
|
Did this several times, with no improvement.
Is there a standard set of configs that seems to work better than others?
Ive been trying to play around with the settings, as per the help files, but as
noted, things arent going very well.
I *really* want to try using this software but Im just not sure what else to
try. Any ideas would be most appreciated.
Best regards,
Allan B.
