Yes, I think Netscape imposes something like a 32K or 128K limit on the
<TEXTAREA> tag. It's also set to a max of 65000 characters in the HTML
code, so even if Netscape didn't impose a limit, the web page would.
Strictly speaking, News-by-Mail subscriptions (a.k.a. the mailing lists) let
you *receive* specific groups via e-mail; they don't let you *post* to
specific groups via e-mail. That is, as long as the system recognizes your
posting address, you can post to any group via e-mail, even if you are not
subscribed to it via e-mail.
Still, this is a tangible perception issue. Furthermore, everyone really
should be able to post *any* DAT file through the web interface, period. So
let me fix this.

Okie dokie.
Jonathan, try this now with your baseplate -- go here:
http://www.lugnet.com/news/post/?lugnet.cad.dat
and click the "Browse..." button, and locate your .DAT file using that
dialog box. Then enter any additional comments -- these will be added to
the article that gets posted (they'll appear above the .DAT content).
This should be able now to handle extremely large .DAT files.
