Is this a problem with LDView, the primitive, or something else entirely.

The 1-4con0 primitive should arguably have a different name, because it is a
different shape than all the other cone primitives.  Specifically, it comes
to a point, while all the other cone primitives are missing the point
(they're open at both ends).

Because the filename matches all the other cone primitive filenames, LDView
automatically performs primitive substitution.  Unfortunately, this produces
degenerate behavior, since the quads turn into triangles.  To make matters
worse, the conditional lines have their extra control points at the pointy
end, meaning that they are degenerate also.

Since the primitive has already been made an named, I guess I'll have to
update LDView to treat it differently than all the other cone primitives and
generate a cone that will render properly.

If you turn of primitive substitution, it should look about right.  If you
put it in your Parts directory, you can turn on curve smoothing and have it
look about the same as it would have with the primitive substitution.
