Tim:

PLEASE don't reply directly to digest messages -- when you do so, you
destroy the subject line as well as References headers crucial for proper
article threading.

As stated near the top of each digest message:

To reply to a message within this digest, visit the Message Archive URL
shown at the top of that message, then compose your reply using the web
interface to the newsgroups.  Do not reply directly to this digest
message or cut portions from it to make a new message.  Each message
within this digest contains special identifications which must be
   preserved precisely for message threading.

Did you accidentally not read this, or did you think it wasn't applicable?

How about the header

Reply-To: trash@lugnet.com (Do Not Reply to this message)

in each digest message, eh?  :-)

Please don't make me add code to the server to reject messages matching
subject lines that look like they came from a digest message.

Thanks,

--Todd

(...) You have a good point there. I never really considered that, but it makes sense. (...) Right. I agree.
