Using Thomas Foote's BFCTool and L3Lab I get different results in regards to
BFC. Can anyone explain this to me?

Do you have any particular parts that demonstrate the inconsistencies
you are seeing?

Well, a lot of them. 3001.dat, box.dat ...
They show invisible faces in BFCTool.
Well, it's been a while since I've installed the original parts library that
came with LDraw. Maybe some of the files have changed since then. I'll try
that.
Thanks,
Mike

I personally edited 3001.dat to be BFC compliant. I'd be interested
if it's not done correctly.
If you have a Parts libray as of at least this past spring, I
would think you'd have the 3001.dat that I 'fixed'... Well I think
it got approved around then anyway.
It should say something like:
0 2002-05-10 KJM BFC Certification
Near the top of the file.
It also should have a line like:
0 BFC CERTIFY
near the top.
I've never actually heard of BFCTool. Is it available for Download
from LDraw.org? I'd like to check it out.

The invisible faces cannot be seen in many other parts, so I think it's a
primitive.
