In Australia, I have some sets in the 1998 LEGO catalogue - I haven't
received this year's catalogue yet - that are in a category known as
Competition.  In this catalogue, are listed numbers 8223, 8202, 8266, 8257,
and 8245.  All of these throw either an end of a LEGO set or a minifig, or a
piece of LEGO at whatever you point it at, and are activated in some trigger
style - I haven't had a chance to pick one of these up, but it seems as if I
will have to.  <g>  Now to find money for them.  ;-)

It would be interesting if you would include catalogue numbers of the sets
you are looking in - that way I can tell for sure if they're the same ones
as in Australia.

Note that I can find no mention of the two mentioned in this posts subject
line.  Although, they could be part of a 1999 lineup.  There is one called a
Stinger, and another one called a Striker, but I'm not sure they are even
close to "Slizer" ...  :)

I thought I'd better ask this anyway, as I have seen an amazing amount of
info about the Year 2000 bug.  Have any of the programmers of the various
add-ons and utilities, converters, or what-have-you checked to see if ldraw
or any of their add-ons or 3rd party improvements are Y2K compliant?  ;-)

Cheers...

I'm starting to work on the Throwbot/Slizer parts.

I'm really happy to see that!

Anyway, I just wanted to comment on the name of the parts: I understand
that the theme called "Throwbot" in the US is called "Slizer" in
Australia.  Hence, perhaps we should use the "Slizer" name in LDraw,
rather than "Throwbot"?
