I think this behaviour is due to issues internal to LDLite.
It's been noted in a few different cases that LDLite can have challenges
with valid MPD files, one example of this is
<http://www.geocities.com/SouthBeach/Lagoon/8641/br/br-ship4_mpd.txt>. If
you split this file out into the component DAT files, it renders correctly.
But it does not render as an MPD.
Paul has also made occasional comments which hint at the complexity of
polling mode, which LDAO's editors require.
Alternate method of working on MPDs: Open LDLite on the MPD, then open the
LDao Editor. Turn off Preview Mode. Whenever you want to see changes,
click the Save button.
