Are there any plans on creating an LDView-based browser plugin? It would be nice if a plugin were added to the Firefox or Chrome plugin libraries, as well as automatically loaded and found when encountering LDraw files. -Mike (13 years ago, 19-Mar-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) I have no plans to do so. Since LDView is open source, in theory anyone could build one based on it. Additionally, I have an LDView-based DLL (used by Bram Lambrecht for LSculpt's preview window and Michael Heidemann for DATHeader's built-in (...) (13 years ago, 24-Mar-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) I agree that this seems a good fit for WebGL, but there is one problem. LDraw.org is FAR too slow to serve up the part files for a web-based viewer without driving the user crazy. A plugin could install a local copy of the parts library. (...) (13 years ago, 24-Mar-11, to lugnet.cad.dev)
