Hi all, I managed to find part #64776 Die 6 Sided Rubber Frame with Red Center with Studs (Board Games) in an Official parts list but I cannot find these files: (Bricklink part numbers) 3068bpb290 3068bpb291 3068bpb292 3068bpb293 3068bpb192 (...) (14 years ago, 23-Mar-11, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Hi Darrel, (...) Indeed, the face is not really needed here. Your scanner properly creates a file in millimeter units, scaling by 2.5 directly provides LDU. (...) From my experience with laser scanner, some smoothing can't be avoided because the (...) (14 years ago, 23-Mar-11, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Hi Philo, I've sent you the STL file for the Anakin Skywalker hair piece and the Senate Commando helmet. Hi Reuben & Darell, (...) Yes, they look good. At first sight triangulation has too many triangles for a LDraw file, but it's easy to reduce. (...) I could have a try, but don't expect it so soon... From the visuals they look pretty good, but I'm no expert on the details needed to convert this type of model into a real part file. (...) (...) I think that making good photos is the best way. You need a camera with good optical zoom, make your photos directly in front of head, and from a distance to minimize field of view. The photo you get is not very different from a projection on (...) (14 years ago, 21-Mar-11, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

The technique I've been using to make minifig torsos can be extended to heads, but I have one critical problem that I haven't been able to figure out yet: Before tracing an image, I need an image that is facing the camera head-on.
