If a part has two or more authors, it falls into one of two possibilities

a) Original author and one or more part modifier/updaters - in this case the
part modifiers/updaters should be moved to the history

b) Two or more authors really did collaborate (and I suspect these are few
and far between) - in this case I think both authors should be listed on one
author line (but I'm open to argument)

What ever is decided it needs documenting in the library header spec (and
while its being updated the other lines need explicit singular/multiple
indicators)

One for the 2007/2008 LSC I feel

I've noticed that a number of official parts have multiple 0 AUTHOR meta
statements in the part header.  All the ones I've seen so far have James
Jessiman as the first author, and someone else as the second one.

Is this the correct way to indicate that a file has had multiple authors?
If
you look at the <http://www.ldraw.org/Article398.html Official Library
Header
Specification>, you'll see that no mention is made one way or another
about
whether or not this is legit, but there's at least an implication (to me,
anyway) that it's not legit.

If having multiple authors is supposed to be shown like this, I think the
official header spec should be updated to indicate this.  Also, while it
appears
that the authors are listed in chronological order (with the most recent
author
listed last), this should also be documented.

I think there should only ever be one primary author - nowadays, the one that
takes the responsibility of submitting to the Parts Tracker. During the CA
header migration, where I have encountered this and assessed that it was a true
collaboration, I have added a !HISTORY line like:

0 !HISTORY 1998-01-11 [simlego] Secondary author

There were less than ten occurences. Most cases of multiple AUTHOR lines were
really change history.

I would not want to complicate the AUTHOR line syntax for a few historical
examples.
