As requested, here is a Minifig shovel. I based it's center point upon the
Minifig Pick-axe. If needed I can re-orient this piece.
As always, I am open for suggestions for corrections, category, keywords, etc.

I tried to use as many primitves as possible for the best POV rendering.

Looks nice. • Thanks!  :-)
I'm not sure whether I should even mention this, but...
Using the primitives means the optional lines from the connic portion of
the shaft extend into the blade of the shovel.  This makes it look just a bit
odd when you spin it around in wire frame mode.
You can mention it, I knew this would be the case.  I was trying for a quick
and easy part.

Plus there is the remote
possibility that it will be produced in one of the translucent colors.
Bellville?

Think so?  I'm not going to worry about it too much for now. If it does
happen, I or someone can "fix" it then.

I don't know whether it's better to keep the part simple by using more
primitives or to spend (waste?) a lot of time cleaning up those areas and
making the part more complex in the process.  Any opinions?

I like using primitives as much as I can.

For more complicated parts I use some of my own "made-up" primitves that I
inline before I am done.  Most of them are shorcuts that need more attention
before finializing.  The most common ones are rectangles with lines on one,
two or three sides.  Also another is a hole that has the edge lines,
cylinders, and ndisc parts put together.

Have fun,

Don
