The Technic axle extender (6538.dat) may have an error. If you view an axle extender from an end and rotate it so that an inserted cross-axle would look like a "plus" (+) sign, the physical part will have detents around the circumference at 0, 90, (...) (...) Do you maybe have an unofficial version of this part? I checked the 3942.dat on my install, and it doesn't reference 1-4ring2.dat or 1-4ring9.dat. You can get a copy of the current official part at: (URL) (23 years ago, 24-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

(...) Yes, this end part can be connected to any eight diameter rod, just as you can with a proper, real life pneumatic tube. It may be a problem that the length of the "widened" part of the tube is fixed, but you could scale it manually to suit (...) (23 years ago, 24-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

This is even better! Ofcourse while the tube is as thick as an antenna #3957, handles of #3838 or the part where you would attach the tube on a pneumatic part like #67C01, the cone shape is great for detail. Jaco (...) (23 years ago, 24-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Here's an example file which illustrates the two pneumatic tube elements I posted. The segment file was done by Jaco van der Molen, and inspired me to do this.
