If anyone in the UK had a Hornby train set, it's more than likely that you
had one of these.  The Blue Circle Cement wagon was fairly standard in most
of their mixed freight starter sets.  I've based my version on what I
remember of the Hornby model from my youth, so any resemblance to any real
wagon is pure chance.  But, wagons of this size and shape have been hauled
around the UK since the 60's - though not always so brightly coloured.

The model itself is an enclosed hopper wagon, for transport of light powder
(e.g. cement).  It's done in yellow with the Blue Circle Cement Company logo
on the side, made out of a 2x2 round blue plate with a 1x1 round white plate
in the centre.  The two blue plates came from my Mindstorms kit; there's one
in the roof of the new Droid Escape too.  If you haven't got any, you could
leave out the two 2x2 plates behind it and use a blue round or square brick
instead.

I've drawn it exactly as I built it, including using 2x2 slopes on the top
(I ran out of 2x4s); mixing 2x1 grilles and tiles and bodging together small
plates when I needed larger ones.  Feel free to experiment.

The slope underneath the main tank is not made from inverted slopes; it's
made from long slopes in a SNOT (Studs Not On Top) position.  Take careful
note of the upside-down bricks, plates and particularly the smooth tiles in
the DAT.  Most of the slopes, and the 1x4 yellow tiles can be found in a
single Naboo Fighter set.

The SNOT technique is a perfect inversion - it uses headlight bricks pushed
into the side of some 2x1 Technic twin-hole bricks (again, grey ones can be
found in the Naboo Fighter).  The headlight studs face downward, with a 2x1
plate across the two faces.  The studded surface of this plate (facing down)
is exactly level with the lower surface of the 2x1 Technic brick, so all the
rows of upside-down bricks are level with the normal ones.

Anyway, enough of the chat.  Just time to say it's my first DAT (in MLCAD),
and I'd built the top just before my very first train set arrived, a few
days ago)...
