DDK RCX Combo, my interpretation...

This past fall I bought the DDK and RIS for myself.  Once I got it all home
I built the R2D2 from the DDK.  While going thru all the information,
catalogs, etc in the packages in the boxes I noticed the R2D2 picture with
the RCX in the back.  This interested me and I started searching for the
instructions on how to combine the two sets.

About two weeks or so later I found some 'base' guidelines for combining the
sets on official Mindstorms website.  I printed out the images and did a
very thorough analysis of them, making sketches as I went along.  If anyone
has seen the images I am talking about you know they are hard to decipher.

With images and notes in hand I set down and combined the two sets.  I
actually took about three nights.

<Fast Forward to two weeks ago>

Finally I got the chance to work on documenting my interpretation.  This
.mpd file was created in the most recent version of MLCAD.  Most of the
constructs in the .mpd are final with the exception of the main motor mount,
I reaaly need to re-work this one.

I classify this as a Version 1.0 of the combination.  The next version will
have a better center motor mount, true steps in the .mpd for the
construction and ,if I get the time to work on it, a completely steerable
center wheel and from bumper.

Comments??

0 WRITE This part is mainly for added stability of the rear

0 WRITE away from each other.  This 'stringer' prevents this
