[Part] More from MAX2DAT —Jeff Boen
Two fairly complicated tires in one day... still tweaking the conversion code... some wiggy stuff due to LDraw's odd orientation of cartesian coords... but i'll get it all smoothed out.. in the meantime i've managed to get the technic 49.6x28 tire (...)      The number of the tyres you're making can be had from: (URL) Tyre "49.6 x 2.8 VR" 6595 Hub "49.6 x 2.8 VR" And possibly: 6579 Ballon Tyre small "43.2 x 28 S" 6580 Ballon Tyre Hub "43.2 x 28 S" Or is this some other tyre? Fredrik (26 years ago, 18-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: [Part] More from MAX2DAT —Jeff Boen
(...) nope.. those are the ones!.. thanks fredrik! and... the 6579 looks nice... but closer inspection of the 6595 shows that i'm going to have to rethink my approach... rotating a section of the tire is causing the circumference to be misaligned...          Re: [Part] More from MAX2DAT —Fredrik Glöckner
(...) I wouldn't worry too much about that. I've seen this effect in other LDraw parts as well, e.g. 2696.DAT Tyre Model Team Try to view this tyre from variour angles, and you'll note that the background "shines" through. Fredrik (26 years ago, 18-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: [Part] More from MAX2DAT —Steve Bliss
(...) If you can get the points for one section, you might use LDScript (or most any programming language) to generate the other sections, coding it to reuse the end-points from one section as the start-points in another section (instead of just (...)         Re: [Part] More from MAX2DAT —John VanZwieten
Way to go! Having done one (Giant Space) wheel myself, I appreciate the difficulty in doing these parts. Thanks a bunch. I would humbly suggest that you post part files to lugnet.cad.dat. They will be easier to find in the future. (It just occured (...) (26 years ago, 18-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: [Part] More from MAX2DAT —Steve Bliss
Onyx, When you put multiple DAT files in a single post, it would be helpful to make them MPD-compatible. This is very easy to do: just put a line 0 FILE xxxxxxxx.dat at the start of each file's code. Use the real filename in place of xxxxxxxx.dat. (...) (26 years ago, 18-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)
