Willy Tschager has been testing LPub for bugs and trying to make it die,
which is a *huge* help to me and you. He reported the following bugs in
LPub 2.1.0.1.
I've resolved all the reported bugs and the fixes will be available in LPub
2.1.0.3 and higher. Willy is now testing the new meta-command support:
buffer exchange, ghost, clear and possibly plist ignore and plist
subsititute. After he finishes testing these, reports bugs, and I fixed
them, I'll release a new version of LPub.
I have some workarounds until the 2.1.0.3 becomes available:
1. LPub forgets the path for LDraw and L3P
Root Cause - a problem with File | Save Global Config, which wipes
out the path information when it writes the global config file.
Work around - LPub rewrites the global config file automatically after
you finish locating PARTS.LST and L3P.EXE, so the next time you fire
up LPub it should *not* ask you where LDraw and L3P are installed. If
it does, please let me know.
Every time you save a global config, LPub will ask you to locate
LDraw and L3P, once, and should remember it after that.
Fix - make LPub save path in global config.lpb.
2. LPub 2.1.0.0 and 2.1.0.1 had problems thinking that Lsynth was
enabled, even when it was not installed.
Root Cause - Lsynth didn't condition synthesis enabled with synthesis
installed. This was fixed in 2.1.0.2.
Work around - edit config.lpb in your LPub installation directory and
modify the line that says "enable_synthesis true" to
"enable_synthesis false".
Fix - force enable_synthesis to false when lsynth not installed
3. POV-Ray Output Dimensions are mislabeled, Height and Width are mislabled.
Work around - put height in width field, and width in height field.
Fix - fields are properly labeled.
4. Checking POV-Ray Output Filename checkbox, and clicking generate causes
LPub to fail.
Root Cause - LPub lets user provide no file name to POV-Ray, but expects
to find POV-Ray generate image with correct file name.
Work Around - Always provide file name after checking Output Filename
checkbox.
Fix - LPub provides default file name when checkbox is checked and
file name is blank.
5. LPub can't handle multiple periods in source file names.
Root Cause - L3P sometimes produces povpath without .pov suffix.
Work Around - don't have multiple periods in file names.
Fix - LPub provides povpath explicitly to L3P
6. Providing anti-aliasing threshold causes POV-Ray to complain about
unknown option.
Root Cause - LPub improperly formats anti-aliasing with threshold
Work around - don't provide threshold
Fix - LPub properly formats anti-aliasing threshold.
