I know this must be simple, but I can't figure it out.
How do I join the white half-cylinder to the yellow pipe, and how do I make
the edge? I know I've done this before, but now I can't, and nether can I
find an example. I've tried to rotate the 1-4cyls primitive in all
directions, but it won't turn out right.

Is this what you need?

1 15  0 0 0  -4 0 0 -4 0 0  0 0 -4 1-4edge.dat

To figure out the 1-4cyls, I copied your line...
  1 15  0 -14 0  0 0 -4  0 10 0  4 0 0  2-4cyli.dat
...replacing 2-4cyli with 1-4cyls.dat.  Then I viewed the model from the
different axes, until I found the view that gave a circular profile to
the sloped edge.  After that, it was just a matter of swapping matrix
components and repositioning.

To figure out the edges, I inlined a 1-4cyls line to see the relation
between the components of the vertices.  This made it obvious that Y=X
for all points.  So I wrote the 1-4edge line that way.  L3P doesn't like
it much, but that doesn't mean it's not valid. :)

Oh, now I feel silly.  I never realized there was a special sloped
cylinder primitive.  I always thought you part guys used a shearing
matrix on the ordinary cylinder primitives like this.

1 15  0 -4 0  -4 0 0 -4 4 0  0 0 -4 1-4cyli.dat
1 15  0 -4 0  -4 0 0 -4 4 0  0 0  4 1-4cyli.dat

And just ignored the overlap with with the other cylinder.

1 15  0 -14 0  0 0 -4  0 10 0  4 0 0  2-4cyli.dat

Oh well, ya learn something new everyday.
