Anyone interested in making animations and putting them on DVD's should check
out Apple's hardware and software lineup.

Apple released a brand new iMac today that looks like a lamp, but it actually
grows on you when you realize why they did what they did and how it really
handles.  Anyway, it has a DVD-burner and comes with all the software needed to
take Pov-ray rendered frames and make a movie out of it.  It also has a G4 chip
which makes it extremely fast (rendering to MPEG 2 is about 1:2 on it, or is it
1:1, I can't remember).

iMovie, even though it sounds like a child app (to me anyway), it is actually
really powerful and can import all of the images.  You can add all the regular
transitions you see on TV or even some goofy ones.  You can add effects and
color correct.  It can export them ready for burning to DVD or VCD.  DVD-burning
Macs also come with iDVD which will burn the discs just like store bought DVD's
(well, there is a pro version that does it *just* like the stores, but iDVD does
a pretty pro-looking job).  And DVD-R's now cost $5 from Apple.

Anyway, if anyone has the cash to buy the superdrive equipped iMac (DVD and CD
burner), then that is the way to go.  Very easy to go from images to finished
disc.

I know nada about DVD, except for my PlayStation 2 can handle DVD movies.

What you say, does it mean that I am able to make *gulp* DVD films (max 640 Mb)
Yes well they are MiniDVD 15min animation or movie in a normal CD-R

on my PC (I know, rendering will take at least two eternities)?

Yes if u don't have a DVD-ROM drive then make your own MiniDVD.
Your right there it will take some eternities in the rendering proccess
but the idea here is to make nice small animations with VCD or DVD quality not
a full DVD "17GB" movie rendered in POV-RAY.

Hello to all,
Since I got my DVD player I have being learning about making video for VCD,
SVCD and MINIDVD. So I was thinking to start rendering my LEGO animation in
a resolution for:
VCD
SVCD
MINIDVD or DVD the same.

If anyone wants to make there animations like me they can download
my first preview of my LEGO town and the can use the settings of my
quickres.txt file.

BEWARE IS TAKES LONG TO RENDER AN ANIMATION AT VCD, SVCD AND AT DVD RESOLUTION
PLUST THEY ARE BIG FILE ONE THE ANIMATIONS ARE FINNISH

here u have the frist preview
