Edge color is, I believe, specifiable in your ldraw.ini file. Once you have
done that, some programs honor it and some do not. LDLite 2.x does, for
example. I am not sure which other ones do or don't.
MLCad does not use LDraw for rendering, it has its own rendering engine. The
dependency on LDraw that the installation refers to is, I believe, for the
parts (and subparts) libs. I have heard of someone installing MLCad using an
entirely different library of parts.
I'm a little hazy here because I don't think I HAVE an Ldraw.ini on my
machine, and I think this isn't documented well. Some searching on ldraw.ini
in the cad newsgroups may be your best bet. But I'm not sure.
Hope that helps!
