The difference is inside - the technic horn has a cross-axle hole, the palm
tree trunk doesn't.

There are two slight variations on the palm tree trunk - one has the same
outer geometry as the technic horn.  On the other, the male connector is 4LDU
longer.

Anyway, there's little functional difference.  If you really want, you can
make a one-line mockup for the technic horn.
