I just downloaded (and set up) MLCAD yesterday. I used the latest edition, and
it created a parts list.
But I've downloaded some of the DAT files from the models group and several
things are puzzling me. I looked at the excellent tutorial, but did not see the
answers to my questions in it - it is mostly concerned with creating a model
from scratch, not program administration.
Anyway, here we go:
1) Is there an MLCAD FAQ that answers these questions? Should this be the start
of one, along with other requests for help in previous threads? I could compile
it...
2) How do you tell if a file should take the DAT or MPD extension?
3) Why do some files show step-by-step instructions to build a model and others
show only the completed model?
4) What is a recursive included submodel, and how do I fix it?
5) How do I tell what parts files I should download from the parts directory?
6) Why, when I click on the DAT link in the web-interface message listing to
download a file, does the resultant file name ALWAYS default to ldraw.cgi??
Thanks for any help you can give...
