Do you mean the thingeys which gives the tread the "[" cross section?
All my tread links have them, that's for sure. But it may very well be
that they were added at a later date for stability, say.

| (...) Never mind... what I thought looked like the back of a plate is in fact the very planar surface with holes in it that I referred to. Artifact of the rendering. (26 years ago, 7-Jan-99, to lugnet.cad)
