If you look at this design you'll notice the parts are a bitt 'off'. This
happens almost avery time when I try to make something in ledit. What am I
doing wrong??

I looked at your dat, and had no problem lining up the parts.  I think that
you have been using only the "normal" part movement function.  By pressing
"m" in LEdit, you toggle through three different movement distances...
(normal, fine, coarse)  you want to toggle to fine, and then line up the
axles.  The ability to have parts placed at locations off of the half stud
movement of normal provides a lot more freedom in your models, and is
necessary when dealing with parts like the triangle lift arm you have in
your dat.

Hope this helps... hope that was what you were talking about :-)

Ps.  You will find that with part rotation and back rotation and funny
angles, that even in fine movement mode you won't line up perfectly.  You
can look in the view window at the top of LEdit, and see the X,Y,Z numbers.
You may just need to move the part 0.1 or 0.2 units.  You can do this with
"x [enter] .1", and the same for the other two planes.  I thought this was
what you were having problems with, but after looking at your file it is
more likely the top scenario.  I mentioned this second one, because it will
come up eventually, and this is a little preventative post.

(...) Good advice, Linc. You may also notice that you occasionally end up with some odd numbers that are off by a small amount -- like 10.3 -- that seem to screw things up ever so slightly, even in Fine movement mode. And you can't seem to fix it (...) (26 years ago, 3-Jan-99, to lugnet.cad)
