All this CAD stuff is new to me, so I need a little help.  I'm using leoCAD and
am wondering about the following:

1)  Why are the blocks so big, can I get them to stay smaller by using the zoom
out without the other pieces I put in being so large?

  After you add a new piece (if you're using the mouse), you'll have to
move it closer to the other bricks. Working with multiple views should
help you see where the bricks really are.

2)  Once my model is built can I have the program show me how I built it?

  Sure, but you have to tell the program how you built it. Add a few
bricks, advance one step and then add some more bricks, take a look at
the tutorial.

3) Can I make pieces to add to the library?

  Yes, make them in LDraw format and then use the convert utility to
import the files.
