What's the formula for calculating a dithered color?
color 1 * ??? + color 2.  What value is ???

512.

You could say this is a good mnemonic:

5 and 1 and 2 is 512.
5 - 1 = 4.
4 and 2 is 42.
42 is The Answer to the Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything.

You *could* say it's a good mnemonic, except it's pretty stupid.  :-,

(...) No, it can't be... Lemme check the docs... What The--?! Fume. :-P You'd think I'd have learned this much earlier. I'm going to be less flippant from now on, when I answer tech questions. Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 24-Jun-99, to lugnet.cad)
