[Followups set to lugnet.cad.dev]
Six new specialized newsgroup in the lugnet.cad.dat.* hierarchy have just
been created for posting various types of LDraw DAT files -- for example:
models, scenes, building ideas, and parts. For background on what has led
up to this, please visit the following threads:

Additional notes:
1. Discussions are allowed (and encouraged) in these new groups as
follow-ups to posted DAT files.
2. The web interface has been modified slightly to show articles
containing DAT content more prominently and to give direct links
from the tabular listings into the DAT-content extractor.
3. lugnet.cad.dat is now obsolete, but will remain online for archival
purposes.
CHARTER/PURPOSE

lugnet.cad (group and hierarchy):
Discussions of CAD software/models/animations, LDraw, LDLITE,
LeoCAD, L3G0, L2P, L3P, BlockCAD, etc.
lugnet.cad.dat (group and hierarchy):
Special groups for posting models and parts as LDraw DAT files,
which can be viewed through the web interface using a special
browser add-on.
-> lugnet.cad.dat.ideas (group):
Construction ideas, concept illustrations, techniques,
sub-assemblies, snippets, etc. in LDraw DAT format, plus any
follow-up discussions.
-> lugnet.cad.dat.models (group and hierarchy):
Original models in LDraw DAT format, plus any follow-up discussions.
-> lugnet.cad.dat.models.sets (group):
Unofficial renderings of official LEGO® sets in LDraw DAT format,
plus any follow-up discussions.
-> lugnet.cad.dat.parts (group and hierarchy):
Unofficial renderings of official LEGO® elements/parts in LDraw DAT
format, plus any follow-up discussions.
-> lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives (group):
Parts primitives (special sub-elements upon which full elements are
built) in LDraw DAT format, plus any follow-up discussions.
-> lugnet.cad.dat.scenes (group):
Multi-model scenes in LDraw DAT format, plus any follow-up
discussions; NOTE: for maximum flexibility and bandwidth
conservation, files posted here should ideally contain only
references to full DAT models and not copies of the models
themselves (not even copies in MPD format).
