Actually, if you read the associated articles, you'll find that OpenSCAD (the
CAD tool mentioned) doesn't have an editing UI at all. It has a viewer for the
files, and the files are in a script format. So creating files involves writing
scripts. It actually seems comparable to writing POV code, but in a different
language, and with a different target audience.

| (...) This doesn't preclude importing/exporting to the LDraw format, though I wonder how the program would make sense of LDraw files given that they are just meshes. Converting LGEO's POV-Ray CSG parts to this format might be more productive. In (...) (15 years ago, 22-Dec-09, to lugnet.cad)
