Mixed Orientation of NXT Sensors in LPub

Okay, I'm baffled by this. I'm adding both an NXT touch sensor and a HiTechnic acceleration sensor in one step and for some reason they are oriented differently in the parts list generated by LPub. The touch sensor is pointing down to the left and (...) (15 years ago, 3-Sep-09, to lugnet.cad)

(...) [snip] (...) If I remember correctly you need to add the parts you want with ta different orientation to PLI.mpd (in the LPub folder) Jetro (15 years ago, 4-Sep-09, to lugnet.cad)

(...) Thanks, Jetro! That did the trick. Gus (15 years ago, 5-Sep-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Mixed Orientation of NXT Sensors in LPub

(...) Gus, Sorry I missed this. The default orientation of parts in the PLI is based on the orientation of the part as authored. These two sensors parts were defined in different orientations. Jetro is correct. The purpose of pli.mpd is to allow you (...) (15 years ago, 9-Sep-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Mixed Orientation of NXT Sensors in LPub

(...) No worries! Apparently the light sensor and the touch sensor had been overridden in the pli.mpd which caused them to be different from the rest. I like that orientation better so added all the other sensor to that file as well. Works great. I (...) (15 years ago, 9-Sep-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Mixed Orientation of NXT Sensors in LPub

(...) Good job in sorting this out (Thanks to Jetro for *the big hint* :^). LPub provides a default orientation for all parts, which does not necessarily provide the same orientation used by LEGO, thus the override for known sensors in LPub's (...) (15 years ago, 10-Sep-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Mixed Orientation of NXT Sensors in LPub

(...) Does this mean we may get paper formats instead of having to input width & height? Every time I try to make an instruction booklet with LPub I need to look up exactly what size an A4 or A5 is... Jetro (15 years ago, 10-Sep-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Mixed Orientation of NXT Sensors in LPub

(...) Until I figure out how to control arbitrary size, I think so. I should just (hah!) change the dialog to only allow the paper sizes. The program is supposed to round up to the next whole paper size, but obviously this doesn't work right, right (...) (15 years ago, 14-Sep-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Mixed Orientation of NXT Sensors in LPub

(...) I'd really appreciate being able to select predefined paper sizes. If eventually people ask for arbitrary sizes you could always include a 'custom' option in which to select the desired size, but I believe that for the average user the (...) (15 years ago, 15-Sep-09, to lugnet.cad)
