I just came across the following problem.
For part http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=parts/3069bpb1.dat LDDP
generate 2 error regarding planarity.
Planarcheck does not.

Anybody with similar experience?

I just checked this part.  The 2 lines in question look to be concave in LDView.

I just checked an LDView reports concave quads. Can somebody explain that to me,
as I believed it can be checked with planarcheck, but co-planarity is ok.

Concave is not the same as co-planer.  Co-planarity checks to see if all the
points in the quad lie on the same plane (with in some tolerance).  You can have
a co-planer, concave quad.

One other thing.
At part http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=parts/s/2859s01.dat LDDP
does not find any double lines. But there are double lines.
2 24 155.00 -5.50 -41.00 155.00 -5.50 -27.00
2 24 155.00 -5.50 -27.00 155.00 -5.50 -41.00
These two lines seems to me identical.
Also LDView does not report them!

Those are illegal type 2 lines as they have 3 points defined instead of 2.
Right now, LDDP just ignores illegal lines and doesn't complain about them.

-Orion

I don't think so, as the official document
(http://www.ldraw.org/Article218.html#lt2) reads like this:

Line Type 2

Line type 2 is a line drawn between two points. The generic format is:

2 <colour> x1 y1 z1 x2 y2 z2

Where:

    * <colour> is a number representing the colour of the part, typically this
is 24 - the edge colour. See the Colours section for allowable colour numbers.
    * x1 y1 z1 is the coordinate of the first point
    * x2 y2 z2 is the coordinate of the second point

What is illegal to the above mentioned lines??
I need for one point in 3D three values for x,y and z.
I am sorry, but this is a bug in LDDP!!

(...) You're right. I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote the above. I'll look into the problem. -Orion (15 years ago, 1-Jun-09, to lugnet.cad)
