time to release an updated LGEO library. Here is a list of changes since the

As far as I can tell, 3829 is broken. The LDraw version of this file is just
a reference to the steering wheel stand (3829a.dat) and the wheel itself
(3829b.dat). The LGEO version of 3829 is just the stand, and lg3829a is
just an alias for lg3829. So the wheel is missing when using LGEO. This is
the result I get using LDView for the POV export, not L3P, but looking at the
LGEO files, I’m assuming that L3P will produce the same results. Given the
presumed popularity of this part, I’m not sure, though.

Apparently somebody decided to rename this part to 3928c01.dat. They then
also decided that 3829.dat should just be the base. That is how things look
on the tracker right now. However, anyone using the official parts library
will be using 3829 as the steering wheel/stand composite part. Personally, I
think this sets a horrible precedent in the parts library, but I’m not going
to fight it.

Thanks for bringing this mistake to my attention.
Actually, nobody decided anything yet. This is the unofficial library, so
“They may be incomplete, or inaccurate, and it is possible that when they are
officially released they may be changed ...”. We do our very best to maintain
the backward compatibility of the Official Parts Library numbering, and there
have been only one or two cases in the past where we have not been able to
achieve that. The longer the library lives, the less we are able to change it.
The original action taken was correct (in the light of our discovery that the
steering wheel part is 3828) to rename 3829 to 3829c01, leaving a “~Moved to”
file at 3829. The submission of a real part over that “~Moved to” file was
incorrect. Since 3829 cannot be re-used for a different purpose, the stand part
will be given a suffix - 3829a.
I have removed the erroneous Certify votes and will straighten this out.
