(...) Is there something special that needs to be done with the above zip file after extracting to get Bricksmith to recognize the parts in it? No parts appeared in the parts selector when I had the preferences set to look at the ldraw folder (...) (16 years ago, 1-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

(...) That seems better than what I get. I had the loading parts window never go away, and when I exited and restarted Bricksmith, it just shows that window for a little bit and then crashes. (...) snip (...) This is caused by the files: p/box3#8p.dat parts/s/swh2.dat parts/s/swh3.dat ...all of which are empty files in 2008-1. The next version of Bricksmith will not choke on such malformed files; in the meantime, don't use those files (...) (16 years ago, 7-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

(...) On further investigation, it is now clear why I did this. All three files are obsolete and not used by any official parts and as primitives/subparts should not be directly referenced in models. Because this update was a complete library (...) (15 years ago, 27-Apr-09, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)
