This problem has been indintified a long ago, but a quick solution was blocked
by the fact that several of the included part files are historicly not licenced
for distribution in another form then included within the original LDraw
Package.
In the past 2 years or so, and still ongoing, a lot of effort has been but into
the resolution of this underlying problem. This includes rewriting parts from
scatch, for those where it was not possible to get permissions from the original
authors. I understand this work is well on it way, once finished, the road is
open to offer a more intuitive working installer.
