Hi,
I've been doing a lot of work on LPub over the last few months (its about
time!), and I was looking for Beta testers. So far Mike and Rosco have
voluneteered.
The changed to LPub are all related to building instruction image generation.
Some highlights include:
PNG image format with transparency for BI images.
POV 3.6 support
LDGLite 1.1.5 support.
Complete control over render window size for assembly and
part image renders.
Simplified interface makes it easier to control scale, and have
consistant scale between assembly and part image renders.
Utility to compute maximum camera distance for any/all steps in
a model. This is handy for controlling scale across the entire
model.
Minimal POV rendering by comparing this round's POV files
against the last ones used. If no change, then skip
rendering (this check is done on a step by step basis).
Background image support for page, PLI, callout and BOM images.
Lots of new meta-commands for the layout processing phase of LPub.
Meta-commands that let you constrain the shape of PLI images.
Meta-commands that let you constrain the shape of BOM images.
Improved packing of PLI and BOM images.
Meta-commands for preventing alternate models from affecting part
counts in BOM.
Some bug fixes:
BOM generation failures
Sporadic process failures due to overrunning memory buffers.
Problems with greying and buffer exchange
Problems with specifying ambient and diffuse values for POV-Ray
Not all controls getting saved/restored in config.lpb
I'd like to make the beta phase about a month at the longest, but that depends
heavily on the quality of my work. Please drop me an email if you want to be a
beta tester.

| Kevin- When I'm rendering my design, the window that allows you to run the rendering comes up. Mine is clogged with other rendering designs (des.1, des.2, etc). Do you know how to clear it up? (20 years ago, 1-Nov-04, to lugnet.cad)
