Out of curiosity I did a mock-up of the magnifying glass to test
the magnifying effect in POV-Ray - it worked magnificently!
However, I did not model the ring.

| (...) It's that simple? Cool! (...) But I suppose real magnifying glasses have spherical surfaces, not ellipsoids? Compressing a sphere like you do above gives an ellipsoid, right? But then again, the differences are probably not worth noting. (...) (26 years ago, 1-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad)
