The first is not that important, the first part in the first construction image created comes out grey no matter what colour it is. The BOM for the first construction image show the colour correctly and it also is correct in the later construction stages.

Nice job digging up the answer to this problem. As you have discovered, this is a known L3P “feature”. I suppose I could add work around in LPub for this “feature”, but at this point I expected a new release from Lars that had this “feature” eliminated.

The second problem is with upside-down rotation steps created in MLCad. These are set with an angle of 23.45.180 to match the MLCad view. However upside-down views in LPub are rendered at a different angle to the correct way up ones. I have tried setting the view angle for the camera in both main Position and Orientation view and the Part Images in LPub to match but still get the same problem. I have also worked the other way and changed the rot-step angle in MLCad to match the LPub ones (I was using 25.50 as recommended by Steve Barille in his Powerpoint presentation)

Please note that the Position and Orientation controls are *not* in the Building Instructions tab. This means they only affect single image rendering.

You have the correct method of adjusting view angle in building instructions which is to use rotation steps. By default, LPub provides a building instruction view angle which matches MLCad’s (at least that is what it is supposed to do.) Absolute rotation steps ignore the default view angle. Relative rotation steps add to the default view angle. Addative rotation steps are probably broken.

MLCad’s behavior is the correct one (by definition IMHO).

What version of LPub are you using? I’ll have to review my rotation calculations and default view settings *again* (:^) and see where the problem is.

Currently my desktop machine (i.e. only development machine) has a bad CPU fan, so I cannot check this, but fear not. The new fan is in the mail.

These two problems can be seen here

Anyone have any ideas?

I have *lots* of ideas, but only some of them are related to LPub. :^)
