Let's say, hypothetically, that you released the 2006 client.

I had never been heard about ROBLOX.com before. But your comment made me
curious. Now Google tells me that this is a business with 22 Billion $ US worth!
And actually there would be no good reason why anyone in 2006 would pretend to
be a garage owner named David Baszucki...

I'm impressed what is still to be found at Lugnet - even if you do not search
for it!

Apparently, he used to have a website with a whole town of buildings.

Posted an update to the LDraw.xml last week to my site, was hoping to do some more but di not have time.

So here is 4.40 (Working 1,770+ , need work 213+) You can find it here HERE

Still looking for help, so if you have some free time please let me know. Have over 212 mapped parts that need to be adjusted. And I’m sure there are other LDR parts that are not mapped to the correct LEGO part number.

Enjoy! Mike

I'm assuming the 80 char lines is what you're aiming for here, so based
on the 64 char limit on descriptions I started the descriptions on the
16th character of the line.  That gives room for a 15 character name
and a single space before the description.  Anything longer and you'll
get the ragged look and a truncated description.  But hey, if we keep
most of the names to 11.3 and under it looks pretty nice:

6028.dat        Animal Dragon Tail
6133.dat        Animal Dragon Wing
6133longfilename.dat Animal Dragon Wing Long version
4493c00.dat     Animal Horse (Complete)

Here's what -8 does to the long filename.  Is that ok?

C:\LDraw>diff -b parts.lst parts.long
11c11
< 6133LO~1.DAT  Animal Dragon Wing Long version
---
6133longfilename.dat Animal Dragon Wing Long version

I put a beta executable here if anyone wants to shake the bugs out.

Hey--that's exactly what I was looking for.  Thanks!

Yes.  I never got around to put it into the LDraw version.

Also, LDView complains about two missing sub-models, h-doer.dat and
lukket.dat.

I better look into that, when I add the roof.

Play well,

I’m open to changing the license. (L)GPL is fine with me. I think the same goes for the Creative Commons licenses, but I would have to take a look to make sure.

Basically, I am interested in maybe uploading the town to a CVS or SVN repository so that continued work can occur in a visible and organized fashion.

A publicly visible version control repository is a very good idea. (Wouldn’t a DVCS (like Git, Mercurial or Monotone) make more sense than a CVCS?)

Play well,

Jacob

Any progress on this? I am trying to remove branded/TLG models from Datsville as

Hi everybody !!
As promised, even if a week later, here is another program update.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Before continue: if someone downloaded the program on September 2, 2013 before
this announce, probably got a wrong version. If this is the case, download again
from now.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Most important new is support for Mindstorm EV3 parts and a bounce of bug fixes.

As often, here is a presentation video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=789rUyiNy_s

Follow a list of changes:

Fixed
- Flexible parts with fixed length can freeze the application
- Hinge Solver now works with 32494.dat parts: just place on their final
position and select both of them with the Hinge Solver tool
- Hinge Solver now works with Universal Joint 3L in all cases
- Mirror building now works again
- Using Half pin with stud part can occasionally lead to an error
- Some gears interferences in particular compact mechanisms

Added
- Support for Mindstorm EV3 parts (Thanks to Philo for this!!)
- Latest Official and Unofficial lDraw parts update
