  Re: Help writing LDraw's history

(...) There's also the interactive timeline project that I recall starting but never finishing. Sad to say right now I'm overbooked, but would be happy to hand it off to someone else if they want. Here's one of the last posts from that thread: (URL) (...) (15 years ago, 13-Dec-09, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  LPub4 for Linux

All, I ported LPub4 to Linux (tested on Fedora 11), and I would like to get feedback from any other Linux users. If you are running Windows or OS X, I'd like to know if any of my patches broke it for you. You can get the patches at (URL) posted a (...) (15 years ago, 12-Dec-09, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LPub gone AWOL?

(...) Your site currently uses a self-signed certificate. If you're going to use https, you really should invest in a valid certificate from a CA, so that security twonks (like myself) can access your site. I'm not prepared to trust any self-signed (...) (15 years ago, 12-Dec-09, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LPub gone AWOL?

(...) Possible? Well, if you know how to use a patch, you can have it running on Linux today. I did a port back in June, but my current patches are here: (URL) you use ldglite as the renderer, you need the latest version from source control.) (...) (15 years ago, 12-Dec-09, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Help writing LDraw's history

(...) From personal experience I can tell you that the natives here are very collaborative when it comes down to corrections or sanding your words so just write down your thoughts and post them - I'm sure someone will be found to get them into right (...)   Re: LDConfig Manager 1.0

(...) I just run into problems if using under Mono (either Windows or Linux). So I recommend not to use it under Mono. I am working on a fix right now. cu mikeheide (15 years ago, 11-Dec-09, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Help writing LDraw's history

(...) Really great work! I would have liked to contribute to the article by writing in it, but I'm aware that my English is far from perfect. So I just add some of my thoughts as an input. The main focus seems to be on the various administrational, (...) (15 years ago, 11-Dec-09, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Help writing LDraw's history

Guys, quoting Jim Morrison (The Doors) I'd say: "The end is near". Obviously I'm talking just about 2009. Updating LDraw's history page: (URL) have to admit that I've forgotten to update the page last year. I would appreciate if you could fill in (...)   Re: LDConfig Manager 1.0

(...) Thanks, Travis and Rosco. This pc didn't have any version of .NET, but now it has. I'll try again to install LDConfig Manager tomorrow. /Tore (15 years ago, 11-Dec-09, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LDConfig Manager 1.0

(...) The files go into %WINDIR%\Microsoft.N...<version>, so you could in theory check for the directory corresponding to the version of the framework you need. It should be a pretty safe bet that if that directory exists, that version of the (...) (15 years ago, 11-Dec-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LPub 4 Callouts (and other questions)

(...) Thanks Eric. (...) Well, let me tell you, that the hardest part about the pneumatic walkers is getting all hoses on correctly. It is even harder within LDraw and LSynth! I hear there is a new LSynth out there that produces much smaller files (...) (15 years ago, 8-Dec-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LPub 4 Callouts (and other questions)

(...) As a matter of fact I am creating buildinginstructions for a model that eventually goes of the page, but for now I just scale down the assembly size as the model grows. But I totally agree with Eric: no rush and thanks for LPub! Jaco (15 years ago, 8-Dec-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LPub 4 Callouts (and other questions)

(...) No rush Kevin. There are probably not too many of us making instructions for models of this size, and we at least have (painful) workarounds in the interim. If you never get to it, I'm still very thankful for LPub, and if you do get to it, you (...) (15 years ago, 7-Dec-09, to lugnet.cad)
