  Re: Datsville Link

(...) I suggested several months ago to open source it and host it on Source Forge or somewhere. I and everyone else seem to have forgotten about it though. It would still be a neat idea. Mike (15 years ago, 14-Nov-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Assembled parts, ~ and categories

(...) Thanks for make that clear now. I have just also link this post in the wiki ((URL) so we can find it much quicker in the future. I have also put there a lot of other stuff that I feel we should keep for future use. cu mikeheide (15 years ago, 14-Nov-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Assembled parts, ~ and categories

(...) 1) the leading ~ should be enforced for files in parts/s. 2a) a leading ~ is optional for files in parts, but should be present for physical components that are always delivered in combination with another. 2b) we need a better way to deal (...) (15 years ago, 13-Nov-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Assembled parts, ~ and categories

(...) As I am in the beta testing for the new DATHeader I need to have decisions for the above questions. At present many of the above is mixed on the PT. cu mikeheide (15 years ago, 13-Nov-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: New parts and color definition

(...) That's nothing to do with the rendering software, it's due to overload on the webserver, causing the script that queues the rendering request to fail. I requeue them manually when I notice. Chris (15 years ago, 13-Nov-09, to lugnet.cad)

  Technic Shock Absorber 6.5L

Hello all, How likely is it this (reworked) part will be in the next (<6mnts or so) official library? Cause I'm working on realtime spring generation in my LD4DStudio project and would really like to include a sample using these (classic) shocks (...)   Re: LPub newbie

(...) Parts.lst is crude and kind of annoying but given your desire for 'just works' (which I highly commend) could you not generate one to help other software to come a bit closer to that goal? Tim (15 years ago, 12-Nov-09, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: LPub newbie

(...) FWIW if you want to generate the parts.lst file yourself, the OS-X version of ldglite comes bundled with a mklist executable. If LPub needs a parts.lst file perhaps it could be bundled with mklist as well. (15 years ago, 11-Nov-09, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: LPub newbie

(...) Allen - Thanks for that response. So to any other newbies, I simply downloaded the latest parts update from ldraw.org, and grabbed the parts.lst file and copied into my LDRAW folder under the Bricksmith folder. After this, the per step parts (...) (15 years ago, 11-Nov-09, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: New parts and color definition

(...) But if I've understood correctly, the Peeron server is a *nix box and sr3dbuilder is Windows-only. So it can't work on the parts tracker unless it comes to support *nix too. Would the swich to LDView give a fix to the part images not properly (...) (15 years ago, 11-Nov-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: New parts and color definition

(...) If anyone interested, my application (SR 3D Builder) can generate parts images based on the contents of a text files or taking the single image directly from the screen. It generates the images for itself, but anybody can use them for any (...) (15 years ago, 11-Nov-09, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LPub newbie

(...) Chris is referring to the LDraw folder which is distributed with Bricksmith. You can move it wherever you want, but by default it comes in the same folder as the application. (Having a single distribution dramatically lowers the barrier to (...) (15 years ago, 11-Nov-09, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: LPub newbie

(...) The parts.lst file should not be under Bricksmith or have anything to do with Bricksmith. It should be in the same LDRAW folder where the parts library is. (...) In order to do a BOM (Bill of Materials), you need to have a cover page. See this (...) (15 years ago, 11-Nov-09, to lugnet.cad)

  LPub newbie

Ok, I have n00b question for LPub. I am using a Mac with Bricksmith 2.3. I have the latest LDview installed and LPub 4.0.0.1. I have 2 issues (they might be related. 1. When starting LPub I get this error: failed to open (...) (15 years ago, 10-Nov-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: New parts and color definition

(...) I created a command line-only version of LDView and got it built on the peeron server, but nobody took the next step of creating a new LDView-based image generation script. I'd be happy to help out anyone who has the access to do this and is (...) (15 years ago, 10-Nov-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: New parts and color definition

(...) Something to consider for the discussion; ldglite still uses dithering to render the part images for the tracker. If for some reason you decide to move the clear glass color from 39 to color 47, you may want to also move the clear light grey (...) (15 years ago, 10-Nov-09, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: New parts and color definition

(...) This explains a lot of things - thx Tore for sharing. I'm going to discuss this in the LDConfig workgroup and see if we find a solution for the problem. w. (15 years ago, 10-Nov-09, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: New parts and color definition

(...) Sorry if maybe I repeat something already said about color 39, but this is how I recall it: In Original LDraw, clear looked better with dithered lightgrey than white, so James and I decided to use color 39 for window "glass", instead of 47, (...)
