(...) AFAIK, no one yas yet tried to write a LDD file to LDraw file convertor. This might be the thing though, eh? I have been playing around with MLCad with L3P and povray, and i have come accross a problem with POVray light sources in sub models. It appears as if they are not put in their submodels, but in their position in the main model. Can anyone confirm (...) (20 years ago, 8-Nov-04, to lugnet.cad)

That is the one! I did not find it, because it does not have the word "Pattern" in it! Should it? The 2004-04 LDraw parts update has been now been released. This update includes 228 files, including 85 new part files, and many more updated with improvements for Back Face Culling support.
