  Completed Model of 6384

I have posted a rendering of the completed set so far. I am still working on the doors for the police car with police on them and the baseplate design. As far as I know the Minifig Motorcycle for this set doesn't exist. Check it out. (URL) (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

6384 Model - Police Station  [DAT]

Here is my mockup for the 4284 with Police on it. I think that I have the rotation off by a little on the front panel.   6384 Model - Police Station  [DAT]

I'm working on this one and I am attempting to MockUp some of the missing pieces. This is my 1x6 with POLICE on it. I used the BMP2DAT for most of it. It renders good in POV although I should probably attempt to get rid of the STEPs. LMKWYT George 0 (...) (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

  Re: Official model repository situation

Ok, let me ask this then, do programs such as Ldlite, MLCad, etc accept ,mpd files and automatically split them or is there still the need to split the .mpd manually? I haven't used MLCad much basically because I've become so proficient in LEdit and (...) (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: L3P v1.3 20010120

Lars, Awesome. I tip my hat to you and Lutz. :-, I don't mean to complain, in fact I am currently trying to figure out a solution anyways, but I thought I'd raise these issues and see if anyone else has figured it out already. Basically, some LGEO (...) (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev)

  RE: Official model repository situation

(...) LDraw and LEdit can't read MPD files without first splitting them, so I see no reason to limit MPD filenames to 8.3. Long filenames will be much more readable and easier to organize, which is what we're looking for in filenames for OMR models. (...) (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Official model repository situation

(...) Why *not* accept long filenames for model names? I think that the current generation of tools (LDLite, MLCad, etc.) are sufficiently good enough -- and we don't necessarily want to restrict Un*x and Mac users as well. I'm a die-hard LEdit (...)   Re: Official model repository situation

Jacob, Will .mpd accept more than 8 characters? I don't use it much, but I was under the impression that we had to keep that in the 8+3 format as well. Please let me know As soon as possible so I can make any necessary changes to the standards. (...) (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: LDraw.org Meeting in New York City, Sun Feb 11

(...) I used to feel the same way. Then someone pushed to form MichLUG. So things are a little better now, in Michigan. A state-wide MichLUG is still too spread out to be practical for frequent activity, but it's good for doing things a few times (...) (...) How about using: TNNXFFFF.dat Where T is T, NN is the fraction of the major circle, X is I/O for inner or outer, and FFFF is the fractional ratio of tube radius to major radius. I'm suggesting this specific format for the following reasons: 1. (...) (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)
