  Re: Gappy Spheroids?

The version of L3Lab I have (1.2, which appears to be the current version) has a seams option in the View menu, as well as a toolbar button. My LDView program has a "Seam Width" option, inspired by L3P/L3Lab. Setting this width to 0 in LDView turns (...) (24 years ago, 7-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Gappy Spheroids?

(...) You're right of course, but I didn't have another example available to me here at work. You mentioned something I hadn't considered, though; does L3Lab have a "seams" function, other than "show color 24 as black"? I hadn't even considered the (...) I forgot to mention. If you are examining a piece, it is usually much easier to determine surface characteristics (or flaws) if it is opaque. --Travis Cobbs (tcobbs@san.REMOVE.rr.com) (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  New part: 2046 Staircase 6 x 6 x 7 1/3 Enclosed Curved  [DAT]

Here, at last, is the curved staircase. This is probably the most difficult part I have attempted, as there are so many tricky curved intersections. The file posted here still contains my development comments which will be removed before submission, (...) (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: 6216.dat (mock-up) - "brick 2x4x2 rounded triple"???

(...) D'OH!!! But I *checked* -- uhh, waitaminit... I checked for "30237", the *other* mock-up I did, I *forgot* to check for "6216". :-P Tore, I'm sorry. :-( "Mea culpa." Thanks, Franklin (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: 6216.dat (mock-up) - "brick 2x4x2 rounded triple"???

(...) When Tore submitted this part for release, he called it "Brick 2 x 4 x 2 Curved". Steve (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Gappy Spheroids?

(...) I suppose I could have been more specific in my explanation. The gaps aren't occuring between my approximate curve and a primitive; they're occuring at the joints between facets of the approximate curve. An example of the faceting can be seen (...)   Color problem with 4522 (Minifig Tool Mallet)  [DAT]

Part 4522 (Minifig Tool Mallet) has two 1-4cyls2 primitives which are set to be color 1(blue) instead of color 16, like so: 1 1 0 0 0 0 0 -4 0 -2 0 4 0 0 1-4cyls2.DAT 1 1 0 0 0 0 0 4 0 -2 0 4 0 0 1-4cyls2.DAT This isn't part of the current parts (...) (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)
