I just borrowed this book from my local library. I haven't gone through every bit, but so far it's extremely helpful -- speaking here as one who's never written an official proposal. I did some new models yesterday and today: the 5 ton, the "logistics vehicle system" (LVS,MK48-14...), and a satallite communications truck (URL) em out. I want to thank Bram for doing that car part to, with out it no 5 ton! PS no JW you cant use em (...) (25 years ago, 10-May-00, to lugnet.cad)

Both the musket and the pistol look good. Keep up the good work on all of these weapons, you have done all of the castle weapons except for the fancy axe and you have done all 3 of the pirate weapons. There has been some talk about serving LDraw parts directly from ldraw.org, mostly to allow rendering programs to fetch part-files over the internet. To get a start on such a service, the parts library has been made available via http (it's not (...) (25 years ago, 10-May-00, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Here's just an update since my last post here. We'll be adding these items to the CD: MLCAD Blockcad Povray (for various OS's, plus libraries) James' Models Ben Whytcross's Database Project (sample) (now all of you can stop emailing me and telling (...) When I was playing around with MLCAD the other day, I noticed that part #3010p20 was available with white and black grille pattern only. Yet I had a dim recollection that it was at least available in silver/chrome also. I remember having it in red (...) (25 years ago, 10-May-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

(...) Hmm. Do you have a reserved range of 3-digit part numbers? If you do, use one number for the flex-tube and another for the ribbed hose. For the subparts, use the same number, and append 'end' or 'seg'. Something like: aaa.DAT Technic (...) (25 years ago, 10-May-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

(...) On my computer, a clean install takes 15MB. That's just programs, parts library, and example models. The distribution files (ldraw.exe, lp97-13.exe, lp97-14.exe, and complete.exe) are just under 3MB, total. Steve (25 years ago, 10-May-00, to lugnet.cad)
