  Re: Someone post

(...) Hi Bruce, Yes, Jean-Yves AKA Torb is FreeLUG member. He doesn't post on FreeLUG neither. He is more in brickfilms than anything else but as a friend of another vignette builder (Alban AKA banban (URL) (1)) he has enjoyed creating these vigs. (...)   Re: Meteor

Hey Nelson, There's some interesting SNOT work there...though it looks like an alien craft rather than a meteor. Hmm. It is quiet here. Someone post so I can change the featured MOC! -- Nathan Wells (19 years ago, 26-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Meteor

It's been very quiet here in the .vignette group, so I thought I'd post something: (URL) No, it's not my best work, but hey, it is a Joe Vig! "Big Daddy" Nelson (19 years ago, 25-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Re: Question from a vig newbie

(...) Hi Bruce and Ley! Thanks for the info and for the kind words of welcome. I don’t own a Weasley minifig yet, so any Joe Vig scenes from me will have to wait a little while, but I’ll see what I can do. I’ll keep watching the group to see his (...)   Re: vignette contest?

(...) Well I was hoping to include all that info in the meeting report, but since you asked, I'll share the results here first. We had less entries than I had hoped, but a number of very solid creations. Rick Hallman made a (URL) scale train (...) Hey MichLUGgers, How'd the vignette contest go? Does (URL) this gallery> hold pics of all the entries, or were there others (it seems that (URL) cjdoyle> made vigs for this contest that don't appear there)? Who won? Inquiring minds want to know.   Re: "odaibacontest3" Japanese group contest

This MOC contest are held by clickbrick(famous LEGO shop) in Tokyo. Contest rules are following. - Area, smaller than 16x16 stud. (So, almost MOCs are not within size of general vignette.) - Height, lower than 12 inches. - Use only LEGO parts, but not (...) (19 years ago, 16-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  "odaibacontest3" Japanese group contest

Hi all, Check out (URL) this gallery>. My interpretation is that a Japanese LUG or fest had a contest with the constraint that the creation had to sit on a 16x16 baseplate (if anyone knows details about this I'd love to know more). There is a great (...) (19 years ago, 14-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.loc.jp, FTX)

Re: Question from a vig newbie

Hey Dave, Welcome to .build.vignette! Glad you're enjoying it here. Joe is that way by design. He's the brainchild of Nelson and Nathan, two of the most prolific Vig-heads and the curators of .build.vignette. They announced the idea in (URL) this (...)   Question from a vig newbie

Holy moley, I haven't laughed so hard at MOC's in years. Every vignette I've seen has been delightfully clever and wonderfully self-contained. One question, though: Part of the point of the "Joe Vig" series of vignettes seems to be that poor Joe (...) (19 years ago, 12-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.vignette)

  Joe Vig meets Far Side

For my first Joe Vig vignette, we take a trip to the Far Side. You may remember the Far Side cartoon where the spiders have a web across a playground slide and one of them is saying "If this works, we'll eat like kings." (URL) Incidentally, this is (...)   Re: A Plethora of Vignettes

Nelson, Those are ALL very nice - I forwarded a link to the Godzilla one to my bro-in-law who likes Godzilla. My fave is the egghead - I really like the way you captured the egg-white on the floor. I have one nit to pick, though. The pothole repair (...) (19 years ago, 12-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: Pole Vault

(...) SNIP I really like the way the vaulter's pole is bending in this vig; it shows the momentum of the athlete's vault over the bar. Nice touch! "Big Daddy" Nelson (19 years ago, 12-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)
