Calling all Sculpture, Micro and Mosaic builders for NWBrickCon

Calling all Sculpture, Art, Mosaic and Micro-fans! If you're heading to the NWBrickCon over the Halloween weekend, I would like to hear from you. I am serving as the light-duty-coordinator for these areas and if you plan to bring something please (...) I'm actually not really sure where this would go, so I took my best guess. At the LEGO Roadshow in Dallas (and most likely at all the other Roadshow locations), there were displays of creations by LEGO employees. In particular, there was this one (...)   Re: New MOC: 32,000 piece corporate logo

(...) Thanks! They're my favorite part of the whole model, and I'm glad the folks at LPL liked the idea of using clear. (Versus their original suggestion to use white.) If the model were completely opaque, it would just look like a boring big ol' (...) (20 years ago, 22-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

Re: New MOC: 32,000 piece corporate logo

(...) Impressive effort, let's hope they don't pick somewhere sunny to display it. Glad it was you and not me gluing the transparent bricks together. (20 years ago, 22-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

Re: New MOC: 32,000 piece corporate logo

(...) Hey Sean, Great work! Very cool look with the clear bricks too. Is it illuminated from within at all? I know what you mean about the difficulty of gluing clear elements. Don't know if you remember me from one of your visits to Legoland. I was (...) (20 years ago, 22-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

New MOC: 32,000 piece corporate logo

Hi, everyone. In July, a company called LPL Financial Services contracted me to build their logo out of LEGO for an event they were hosting in August. The final model is 32,000 pieces and 24 cubic feet. (2 URLs) Read all about it : (URL) Their logo (...) (20 years ago, 21-Sep-04, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX) !

  Re: Captain Cool Guy

(...) Thanks for the kind words. I'll agree that the hands are not too aesthetically pleasing. But, I'll have to disagree with both you and Lenny about the scale. The last thing this thing is trying to achieve is realism, and with the head as large (...) (20 years ago, 2-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

  Re: Captain Cool Guy

(...) Hey, this thing is awesome! I agree with Lenny about the hands though. At four wide, they seem just a trifle too wide, not so much too big, as they should be oversized, but not proportioned right. Another option in tan might be to use minifig (...) (...) Large hands....... big gloves. (sorry) I love the caricatural style of this guy! JP. (20 years ago, 1-Sep-04, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)
