Hey all, here's my second public sculpture - the magical mushroom. Strangely enough, this one was inspired by a dream involving Smurfs (your guess is as good as mine :-). (...) There's a kind of trestle bridge inside the torso. It's not large but serves the (probably) crucial purpose of distributing the weight onto the legs. (...) Thanks! The textiles were definitely challenging-- I just meant they aren't closely based on "authentic" models. The trickiest part of the rider was doing the trim on the dress with only two 1x2 orange grilles and a bunch of 1x4 orange plates. (...) (...) Judy- That is absolutely beautiful! The legs look perfect, and I'm sure they're sturdy as well--the intricacy of the patterns is really excellent set against the constantcy of the camel's tone.
