Coming up: a real LEGO mosaic

Hi all, As I announced earlier, I am going to make a LEGO mosaic. A trip to Legoland is planned later this year, I hope to find there all the required pieces to finish this project. I have just finished another Ministeck mosaic. (URL) (192x240 (...) (22 years ago, 14-May-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

Re: LEGO Mosaic: Fort Worth Skyline

Mayfest provided the image. I would have liked to have made the image bigger to get more detail, but there were budget constraints. Using grays with colors is often tricky. The grays, being in the center of a color cube, often overpower all of the (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.build.mosaic)

Re: LEGO Mosaic: Fort Worth Skyline

(...) Upping the bar with the color, eh? It really looks great; did the Mayfest people provide the image, or did you find one on your own? The choice of POV is awesome, and the green fields, paths, and people in the foreground really add to the (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.build.mosaic)

Re: LEGO Mosaic: Fort Worth Skyline

(...) Wow, another great city captured in Lego. I found this one a little different though. I think I like the black and white cityscapes a little better. It could have just been the outdoor lighting that threw me off but I like the way you don't (...) (22 years ago, 4-May-04, to lugnet.build.mosaic)

  LEGO Mosaic: Fort Worth Skyline

Hi folks, I spent this past weekend in Fort Worth, Texas at their 'Mayfest' celebration building a large, color LEGO mosaic of their city's skyline. I have a full write up here: (URL) I'm trying to gather links to all LEGO skyline mosaics completed (...)   Re: Text in walls

(...) I'd leave the old 'M' in as an alternative. Also the 'W' done the same way, but upside down. A 'T' done this way only takes up three vertical plates, rather than six. Doing 4-stud-high lettering, I found that you only had to change the design (...) (22 years ago, 29-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.build.mosaic, lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: Text in walls

(...) {snip} (...) Updated. If anyone would add some more letters, especially other non-English letters, I'd be happy. BR Sonnich (22 years ago, 29-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.mosaic, lugnet.build)

  Re: Text in walls

(...) As for reading, there should be no difficulty reading "Railtrack" on my hopper, so it's the context in the word that matters. If a person knows what a word should say, the brain fills in the rest. This was shown in scientific experiments that (...) (22 years ago, 29-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.mosaic, lugnet.build)

  Re: Text in walls

(...) I have added the letters you mention, and the T in your car (slightly different from mine) (URL) played a little around with the X. The M and N are great. The K and Z, partly R too are hard to read, a colleaque here could not figure it out. (...) (22 years ago, 28-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.mosaic, lugnet.build)
