Have you thought about screw extractors? You'll need a hole in the post,
that means drill if head post doesn't already have a hole in it. Then put
the screw extractor in and you should be able to move it, or tear apart the
plastic. (a resonable screw extractor can be had a Sears or Home Depot
without too much of an investment. Also any rental shop worth its salt
should have a kit you could rent for an hour or two)
And if you tear apart the post, and the post looks unglued, try grabbing
the remanants with needlenose pliers.
BTW, I'd cushion the head piece in balsa wood (scratch the wood, not the
Lego) in a vice or something.
All this is assuming of course that the head was not glued in place with a
PVC glue. If that was the case, I'd call it a loss.

| (...) You may be able to get away with a small self tapping screw instead of a screw extractor... drill a hole, screw in the screw (gently) and pull hard on the screw. (...) Definitely. Also, for this sort of drilling, you should be using a Dremel (...) (23 years ago, 15-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.minifigs)
